Boyfriend Blues

 Hello,
It's been a week since my last fashion blog! Crazy! Today I wore one of my favorite dresses (yes I have it in black and grey too!) This look is completely inspired by spring. I love thin boyfriend coats for spring because it keeps you warm when the weather can't make up its mind.

Artifical.

Hello.
So today I am ever so lucky to have a chat with a successful teenager from Brighton who owns an every-growing Tumblr.

http://art---ificial.tumblr.com/

This blog is one of my favourites. It's ran by a girl called Hannah, who shares her interests through uploading or re blogging. Hannah is almost 18 from the south, she is currently studying art at college and next year is of to university. Luckily for me she had time to stop her busy scale and talk!
I asked Hannah a few questions about fashion, blogging and teenage life and here's what she has to say.

What inspired you to start blogging? and how did you decide on your URL name?
To be honest it was my friend who told me about this website "Tumblr" and she said start one, so I did haha. My inspiration for my name is a bit deep I'm not going to lie haha, it's a mixture between the idea that I wanted to post art (and it is also a 'space' <-- oh dear) that could be completely superficial i.e. fashion.... also I like clothes!

We can clearly see that you enjoy fashion, where are you favourite shops?
Motel rocks, american apparel, romwe, asos. Also every online shop haha!

Nice! What are your top shopping tips for people on a budget?
Go for good but staple basics, quality over quantity. H&M basics are also good.

Everyone has a go to shop, but what would you say is your ideal comfy outfit?
H&M basic tops with either black joni jeans from topshop or american apparel riding pants.

So simple but stylish! Final question is what trends do you will be big SS15?
I'm not sure, but I love sports luxe!

Thank you Hannah for taking the time to  talk! Don't forget to check her out!

Lets get funny for money!

Hello,
Happy comic relief day! In true comic spirit I have decided to go red (but stay stylish) Red is not a colour I go for much! I honour anyone who dares to go wear red, I feel like it is such a bold, eye-catching colour. I paired my tartan skirt (boohoo) with my black cape. I wore my hair back in half-bunchies just to add some fun into my outfit! I picked my red nose up from sainsburys and love how they have designed them this year. I got the scuba diver one, but had to admit I was desperate to get the astronaut as it is so cute! Don't forget to tune in on the BBC on Friday and donate!

Winter Flowers

Hello,
I completely forgot that I owned this skirt! I lent it to my friend and when she gave it back I almost jumped with joy! I got it from urban outfits in the 2013 Christmas sale. When someone mentions floral prints my mind automatically thinks about summer. However, this skirt can be worn all year round because the colour scheme is simple and the design is minimal. I paired it with this textured coat from the recent primark sale and My roll neck topshop top. I paired this top with this coat because the textures contrasts well. Also, the coat has no collar so the roll neck just pokes out.

Palatinate Purple

Hello,
Today I wore my new leather skirt! Purple is not a colour I usually opt for , however, when I saw H&M had this beauty down to £20 I instantly decided to get it. I'll be honest I've had my eye on this skirt for a while but being high priced I would always encourage myself I didn't need it.... I was wrong! I also adore the white layer on the inside of the skirt it slightly shows at different angles, which makes the skirt 1000x nicer! I paired it with my all time fave coat. My advice is when wearing something as statement as this coat and skirt don't over accessorise. I went for my Pandora bracelet which never leaves my wrist and my rose gold hair tie. I love this hair band because it completely transform's any look and makes a messy pony tail look like you've made effort.

Gingham Girl

Hello,
My style varies, some days I'm in the mood for dresses, and heels. Other day I just want to lounge around in an old baggy tops and jeans (or sweatpants). When I got this lip bullet from topshop I instantly knew I wanted to attempt a grungy, less 'chic' or 'glam' look (very out of my comfort zone.) I got this gingham shirt from H&M and decided to wear it open like a jacket, underneath a plain black v neck cami. I didn't plan on adding a pop of colour so paired it with my black stretchy skirt (I live in it) and some low dernier tights so the outfit wouldn't look like to much black.

(Not that well applied as you can see because the only negatives to lip bullets are they are thick and hard to evenly apply)

I made an effort?

Todays look is something that took me about 2 seconds to put on. Its so casual and comfy, today was one of those days where you cannot be bothered to wear heels or a face full of makeup, instead I just threw on my bomber style jacket and a pair of skinny jeans with a high neck black top! Simple. As the weather is slightly warming up because we are coming into spring I was warm enough. Because I wasn't making an effort I just put on my nude lip bullet from topshop and only wore mascara and foundation. This look gives more of a sporty, street style vibe. I like to experiment with my style so this is perfect to easily venture into a different style.

The September Issue

Well all I can say is wow! If you are unaware/not seen this amazing film than you really have not lived. The only way I can describe it would be Devil Wears Prada/Ugly Betty plus so much more! Its a documentary about the extraordinary and adventurous life of Anna Wintour (editor of vogue). So after watching the film I felt inspired to do a little research of my own and find my top 10 front covers all the iconic Vogue September issue!

10.  September 2004

Model - Kate Moss
The reason I chose this copy was because the colour scheme is perfect! I love the dark sky blue it looks fabulous behind the leopard dress, It really makes the dress stand out. Another reason I chose this was because of the fashion icon Kate Moss on the cover, her hair looks gorgeous. #hairgoals

9. September 1964

Model- Jean Shrimpton
The theme for this issue was Britain! The concept behind it was to show the demand of British fashion. I  adore the vintage feel, the floral dress and chunky stone earrings brighten the models face. Furthermore, you can see the defined check bones using bronzer which is in fashion right now!

8. September 1939
One word to describe this issue is history.  "In accordance with the Government wish that businesses should carry on so far as possible, Vogue will continue to be published during the war, but as a monthly magazine." This is so iconic, it marks the start of the war and the success that Britain would encounter. Apart from the history, I love the title as its in the different vogue font from normal.

7. September 1925

This issue has no context possibly because its decades old. This cover was before celebrity, models or photographers, just art. Looking at the fashion illustrated it screams the 20's, the long flapper style dress, long thin scarf and silver tone. Even the background and props scream the 20's.

6. September 1998

Models -Angela Lindvall, Bridget Hall and Carolyn Murphy

This issue has a special part in my heart because it was realised the year I was born. This issue is more modern, and looks almost identical the ones we see now a day. The models are wearing Dolce and Gabbana. As always the fashion screams 90's, The metallic silver dress with the different tones of pink are perfect! The cover story entitled 'COSMETIC SURGERY' makes me laugh because I assume this is when surgery started to become a big part of society.

5. September 1993

Model - Christy Turlington

The chic all black look here is beautiful! you can clearly seethe different textures of the hat and jacket, which just adds more dimension and style to the outfit!

4. September 1990

Model - Jade Jagger

Photographed in Paris. Jagger is now a jewellery designer but formally was a model, More famously her sister is Georgia Jagger who famously modelled for rimmel. The dark make up is so beautiful on Jade. I love the strong eyebrows and defined lips. A look I would definitely go for.

3. September 1961

No models, no fancy cameras, no celebs. It just focuses on fashion and beauty! I personally love this cover because it has no celebs, I would must rather see this hit the news stands than a half naked Kim Kardashian marrying for the millionth time.

2. September 1992

Model - Linda Evangeliista
It is no surprise that my second favourite cover includes the city of my dreams New York.  Other than NYC, I love how they have moved away from elegance and class and put a biker girl on the
cover!

1. September 1958

Model - Nena Von Schlebrugge

Faux fur! My love. The fur, the sea green eye shadow, the pink lipstick. Everything just makes this cover beautiful!

Goodbye,
Love

London

London

So if you haven't seen my London street style blog than you will be unaware of my latest trip to the capital. Something about being in London is inspirational and magical. Fist of all, we went to watch an IMAX movie, after that I went to The National Museum and saw some very famous pieces of artwork, which was surreal. After that I went on a wonder and randomly ended up on Oxford Street! So of course a spontaneous shopping trip happened. But when I was in London I also took a series of photographs. My aim was to take photographs and a different view so people can really see the beauty of London! I took all the Photos at hip-level. Although, it was difficult to capture London, as it is constantly moving, but I did manage to capture some that I am very proud of! I hope you enjoy the eight I've posted! Stay tuned for more coming soon!
